1 - WHAT DO I DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European privacy law effective starting 25th May 2018. The GDPR regulates how I may collect, use, and retain your personal data. My policy is in line with this regulation.
When you purchase something from Helen Cousins Botanics, as part of the transaction, the personal information you provide you such as your name, address and email address is collected.
When you browse the shop, I automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide me with information that helps me learn about your browser and operating system.
With your permission, when you sign up to my newsletter, I may send you emails about my shop, new products, upcoming exhibitions and other updates.
I have no access to your credit card details. All transactions are processed through a gateway provider (Stripe - see section 4 below).
2 - CONSENT
When you complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order or return a purchase, you consent to our collecting your personal information and using it for that specific purpose only.
If I ask for your personal information for a secondary reason such as marketing, I will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with the opportunity to say no.
If you change your mind after you have opted-in, you may withdraw your consent for me to hold or use your information at anytime by contacting me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
3 - SQUARESPACE
My online shop is hosted on Squarespace. They provide me with the online e-commerce platform that allows me to sell my artwork and other products to you.
Your data is stored through Squarespace’s data storage, databases and the general Squarespace application.
4 - THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
I also use Google Analytics Software to analyse traffic to my website and blog. Google Analytics does not collect personal information. You can find more information regarding Google’s private policy here.
Finally, I use MailChimp as my email marketing tool. Please refer to their private policy here.
Please also note that once you leave my shop’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by my Private Policy or my website’s Terms of Service.
For example, when you click on links on my shop or blog, they may direct you away from our site. I am not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.
5 - BLOG COMMENTS
If you post any Comments or other content on my blog (Petals & Paints), any personally identifiable information you choose to provide there may be read, collected, or used by other users of the Website, as well as other third parties. I am not responsible for any information you choose to submit in these forums. I cannot guarantee that other users have not made copies of and/or will not use such information outside of the Website.
6 - SOCIAL MEDIA
The Website provides users the opportunity to interact and post content through Facebook and Instagram. Your interactions with these applications, and any information you provide in connection with these interactions are publicly viewable outside of my Website domain. Each social media site has its own privacy policies which may be more or less protective than this Policy. If you do not wish for this information to be disclosed, then you should avoid these tools. I am not responsible for information you choose to post in this forum.
7 - SECURITY
I store all user information in secure databases protected via a variety of industry-standard access controls. Measures are in place, including secure passwords and SSL encryption to help me to protect your data. However, unfortunately no company, including Squarespace, can fully eliminate security risks associated with the transmission of personal information through online transactions, and so I need to say that you do this at your own risk. In the event of a security breach, I will inform you within 72 hours that this has happened, and what steps I am taking to resolve the issue.
